Every question, answered straight

Updated August 2026

Everything worth knowing before and after you install Fouz — the numbers included, the fine print stated plainly.

Getting started

Is Fouz free?

Free to play, with no ads and no subscription. Everything that earns XP, holds a streak or affects your rank is free and always will be. There is one optional $8.99 one-time purchase, the Founder's Pass, and it is cosmetic only.

Do I need an account?

Yes — it is what keeps your XP, streak and history when you change phones. Sign in with Apple or Google; it takes a few seconds and there is no password to invent.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Fouz is iPhone-only today; Android is next.

Do I need a smartwatch or fitness tracker?

No. Logging is about twenty seconds of typing — which is the only method that works for padel, boxing and yoga anyway.

What sports can I log?

55 sports across 9 categories — team sports like football and basketball, racket sports like padel, pickleball and tennis, plus running, gym, combat sports, water sports, yoga and more. Meals log too, with calories and macros or just a photo.

What languages does Fouz speak?

English, French and Spanish — the app and this site both.

The game: XP, levels, streaks, badges

How does XP work?

Every action pays a fixed, public amount: 20 XP for a workout, 15 XP for playing a pickup game, 10 XP for a meal, 10 XP for setting a goal. There are no hidden multipliers and no way to buy XP.

How do levels work?

Level N requires 100 × (N−1)² XP — so level 2 takes 100 XP, level 5 takes 1,600, level 10 takes 8,100. The curve is public; nothing accelerates it except logging.

What are the exact streak rules?

A streak is alive only while your last logged day is today or yesterday. Miss a full day and it restarts. There are no freeze tokens and nothing to buy that protects it — that is what makes a 30-day streak mean something.

What keeps a streak day alive?

Any log counts: a workout in any sport, a pickup game, or a meal. Rest days don't have to break the streak — a logged meal or a recovery walk keeps the day alive.

Can I lose XP or levels?

No. XP only accumulates and levels never go down. The streak is the thing you protect — that is deliberate: one number that can break is motivating, two is punishment.

How do badges work?

Badges unlock at real milestones and carry original artwork of Fouzi, the mascot, across four rarity tiers: Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. They cannot be bought.

How do leaderboards work?

Rank by XP, streak or level, over this week, this month or all time. Filter to your city, your sport, a distance radius, or only people you follow. If your stats are set to private, you simply don't appear.

Playing together

How do pickup games work?

Anyone can host a game: sport, time, location, how many players are needed, and a skill level from beginner to expert as a guide. Open games are joined in one tap; approval games let the organiser accept each request. Games starting within two hours appear as 'urgent near you'.

What if there are no games near me yet?

Create the first one — it takes about a minute, and you can invite people directly. Every city's game scene starts with one person hosting.

Do I need friends on Fouz to get anything out of it?

No. Logging, XP, levels, streaks, goals and badges all work solo. The feed, leaderboards and pickup games are there when you want them.

How do invite codes work?

Share your code; when a friend redeems it within 7 days of signing up, you both earn XP. Codes have a daily redemption cap to keep things honest.

What is the feed like?

Only what people you follow actually did — logged workouts, meals, games and milestones, with kudos and comments. No influencers, no ads, no suggested content.

Privacy and your account

Can I use Fouz without anyone seeing my workouts?

Yes. Every post is set to public, followers-only, or 'only me' before you save it, and you can switch public stats off entirely. Private activity still earns XP and holds your streak.

Can I hide my level and streak from the leaderboard?

Yes — turn off public stats and your level, XP and streak leave both your profile and the leaderboard.

How does Fouz use my location?

Location powers nearby games and search when you allow it, and you can optionally tag logged activities with a place. Your exact location is never shown to other athletes; a 'discoverable nearby' toggle controls whether people can find you by distance at all.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, under Settings — no email required. Profile, posts, activities, goals and photos are permanently erased, immediately.

Can I block someone?

Yes. Blocking hides both of you from each other — posts and comments — and stops them following or interacting with you. Unblock any time in Settings.

The Founder's Pass

What is the Founder's Pass?

A one-time $8.99 purchase for people who want to back Fouz early: a Founder mark on your profile and share cards, three extra share-card styles, and every future Pro feature free, forever. One payment, no subscription.

Is Fouz pay-to-win?

No — and this is a design rule, not marketing. The Founder's Pass is cosmetic: it cannot buy XP, levels, streaks, badges, or a place on the leaderboard. Nothing that affects the game is for sale.

I bought the Pass and changed phones — how do I restore it?

Settings → Restore purchases. The Pass is tied to your Apple ID, so it follows you to any device you sign into.
